Trim strip from a web slitter is received in a chute passageway which guides the trim strip away from the slitter. 1. An apparatus for removing a cut edge of a web material on a slitting machine, comprising a stream whose walls are bent and form a channel for moving the edge from the horizontal plate of the machine downward, and means for supplying air to the channel having a row mounted on one of the walls of the tray in the course of moving the edge of the nozzles, differently so that, in order to increase the reliability of the removal of the edge, the means for injecting air into the channel additionally has a number of nozzles placed along the course of moving the edge to another counter the false wall of the tray, while the nozzles are made so that their channels are parallel to the corresponding sections of the walls of the tray and are connected to a source of low air pressure. 1,446
